Scotts® Turf Builder® Quick + Thick® Grass Seed Dense Shade Mix is a grass seed blend designed to grow thick, green grass quickly in shaded areas where other grasses may struggle. It grows 2 times thicker in as little as 14 days and contains 99.99% weed-free grass seed along with a special blend of time-release nutrients to support early growth and establishment. The mix includes Creeping Red Fescue for shade tolerance, Turf-type Perennial Ryegrass for quick germination and durability, and Kentucky Bluegrass for dense, lush coverage.
For best results, apply in early spring or early fall when temperatures are consistently 15 to 26°C (60 to 80°F). A 1.2 kg (2.6 lb) bag covers up to 162 m² (1,751 ft²).
